As with any building project, the foundations have to be right. At The Fourth Room, all projects are completed to best practice specifications.
From stepped foundations on sandy soils to reinforced concrete pads on clay, we will always ensure that your project is built on the right foundation, so that it looks as good in ten years time as it does on day one.
It may be tempting to try to save a few hundred pounds on a base which will never be seen, but when you are paying thousands of pounds for your stone slabs or porcelain tiles, it is always a false economy, and in 12-18 months your dream garden has turned into a living nightmare.
We adopt the same approach to the finish as we do the start. No detail is ignored, ensuring that we deliver the perfect result, every time.
For soft landscape projects such as planting and turfing, we use exactly the same approach. Digging in Farmyard manure to give your plants the best start or importing ‘rootzone’ to ensure your new lawn is not sitting wet, we ensure that the foundations are right for your plants, whether you can fit five in a wheelbarrow or require a crane to lift a tree into its location.
